Introduction

The pendulums have always been a very important part of the History of physics. They originated numerous discoveries, and led to multiple and fundamental experimental results.

We can as an example remember the famous Foucault pendulum [ref], which was first used in 1851 by Jean Bernard Léon de Foucault, a French physicist, in the Panthéon of Paris, to prove that the Earth rotates ; or also the simple pendulum [ref], which is an intuitive and simple example of an harmonic oscillator in the small angles approximation.

Thus we can understand that the pendulum can be of numerous interests, whether in the industrial, educative or experimental domain.
